I know, it’s early. But for a custom couturier, it’s not. My work is done. I head to Pennsylvania tomorrow where I will be working on several non-fashion projects.

My Christmas collection the year was all about sparkle and textural delight. Purple, silver, red and green sparkles positioned with maribou, charmouse, tulle and sequin lace. I got so many orders I had to shut the sale down early.I’ll let the pictures tell the story…

The Dog with the Pearl Necklace

I made this one-of-a kind gown for the Haute Boutique Auction (Nov 16-18), a wonderful place to buy pet gowns at great prices. With texture and glistening glow as my mission, I mixed two sequin laces with matching glitter-tulle and charmeuse. Add the three-string necklace of red pearls, with a Tiffany & Co heart charm dangling down the back and you have the perfect holiday gown. Add a maribou chubbie and your pooch will be best dress girl in the room.

Absinthe Melt my Heart

I fell in love with this fabric, even though there wasn’t even a yard of it on the bolt. I mixed the luscious sequin fabric with matching glitter-tulle and charmeuse. This color looks amazing with color accents. First I wanted to pair it with purple, but the baby pink just blew me away. It inspired me to make a matching necklace and the fashionable turban.Jewelled florets in strategic places added surprise. Art should always surprise. So should fashion.

White Christmas Dog Gown

Oh what an enchanting collection of textures: the soft feathers, the slick pearls, the delicate and glistening lace. I kept the dress sheer to let the dog’s beautiful coloring shine through. With something so simple, the construction needed to be exquisite, so I cut out appliqués from the lace and trimmed the lace along the hem so that all edges finish with a lace border.

To Grandmother’s House We Go

This one reminded me of a traveling suit from the 1890’s. Christmas green taffeta, lace, glitter tulle and Marabou, with a burgundy bow clustered with flowers and dangling jewels.
