Wetlook Jacket

This is a limited run, because I can’t find more of the fabric! It’s circa 1970 wet-look faux leather. I don’t know why it’s not sold everywhere because it’s a delicious piece of cloth.   I found it in this little shop in Los Angeles.

I designed this to answer a specific challenge. I wanted to design the perfect tuxedo coat, where the collar and tails stood out, but the shirt was also visible.  And the whole thing could be simply constructed.  The dog loops his paw through the one armhole loop, the jacket then  covers the back, and the other front paw then slips through the other paw. A custom made to order version would be made to your dog’s exact measurements.  To work in a ready to wear line, I added a strip of velcro securing over the belly.
